Manchester Summer Chamber Music Festival (MSCM) is Manchester-by-the-Sea's resident chamber music series. Our mission is to find and embrace new audiences for classical music by presenting them with accessible programming and top-notch performances, while simultaneously engaging and satisfying long time chamber music fans. Over the past 3 years, MSCM has achieved this mission in a variety of ways including, innovative programing (a smorgasbord of single movements), performances in various venues, and highlighting classical music, both new and old, that has the immediacy and emotional depth that has made classical music one of the most compelling forms of expression for hundreds of years.
Inspired by the natural beauty of Manchester, founders Sage Cole, a native of the town, and Tsai, a native of nearby Andover, aim to celebrate the town and engage the community in the vibrant excitement of a summer music festival. With an artist roster that includes stunning young musicians from around the world, MSCM concerts routinely impress audiences with their virtuosity and verve.
Following a successful debut in 2009 at the First Parish Chapel, MSCM has yearly expanded in its concerts and venues. The 2012 season sees MSCM once more appearing at the First Parish Chapel and the Bates Residence, as well as performing in the new venues of Manchester-by-the-Book and the Grove Boutique and Cafe. We are extremely excited about our upcoming season and are looking forward to sharing our music with you.
